Grace is the Strength to Face Life
Jesus said, "I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more."
Jesus said to her, "Go". There is power in His statement. There is permission flowing forth from it. There is purpose wrapped up for her in this one word, "go".
Jesus is giving this "guilty one" the power, permission, and purpose to continue on with life. Condemnation wants to end our life or at least "disqualify" us from any real purpose and success in life. Conviction is the work of the Holy Spirit. Conviction draws us to His heart and empowers us to continue on in a new direction.
God says, "Let's do life together." He has a plan for you! He wants you to discover and fulfill His purpose for your life. He wants to send you forth in His power to establish His kingdom in the hearts of men.
2 Cor. 5:17 informs us that "if any man be in Christ he is a new creature…" He not only forgives us and eliminates our "condemnation", He makes us a brand new creation. Your psychologist can't do that for you. Your counselor or doctor may help you but they cannot make you a new person. Jesus can and will!
Jesus doesn't stop there. His desire is that you move on in life and walk in His favor. "I have come that you might have life and that more abundantly" John 10:10.
I remember the night I gave my life to Jesus. I was a drug addict and my life was totally out of control. I laid in bed and cried out to him, "if You will set me free and forgive me, I will live for You for the rest of my life." It is as if He had been waiting for that moment. He said "lets get started!" He hasn't called me (or you) to look backward and dwell in the past but to "go" in His name and conquer on His behalf. So "go" today in His power, with His permission, and with His purpose and walk in the favor He has called you to and granted on your behalf. Go do life in Jesus' name!
